It was a tough race weekend for Motorsport UK Academy driver Oliver Cottam at Snetterton.
Making his TCR UK Championship debut, the sixteen-year-old was racing an Audi RS3 LMS TCR Gen II run by Paul Sheard Racing.

Oliver was 13th in Saturday's qualifying session, and a driver change saw him moved up to 12th on the grid for Sunday's race one. Starting midfield was always going to be tricky and Oliver unfortunately did not finish the first race. "Sadly it's not the result we hoped for, but we will come back fighting in the next one," he said.

The race one DNF meant that Oliver started the second race from the back of the grid, but a fighting drive saw him work his way up to 14th place. "After a tough start this morning, we finished P14," Oliver said. "It was a great weekend with ups and downs. Thank you to Paul Sheard Racing, Ray Grimes, TCR UK and the Team," added Oliver's dad, Edward Cottam.
The next TCR UK race takes place at Croft Circuit on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May.
